Why is WhatsApp camera zooming in and how to fix it?

The last update of the application brought a bug for some users: when opening the camera, it is enlarged on the screen. What is there to do.

The latest WhatsApp update had several bugs and users did not hesitate to post complaints on social networks. When you open the camera, it is zoomed in. They say Facebook has this problem and is the only one responsible for solving it. But they exist some tricks that can work.

Use the mobile camera interface

The fastest solution – and also from ‘Captain Obvious’ – is first of all not to use the camera interface within WhatsApp, but that of your own mobile phone.

In this way, the recording is not enlarged or stretched, but you can choose the 4: 3 format. Then go to the WhatApp chat you want to send the photo to, press the camera icon and the latest photos / images will be shown on the scroll shown below.

Update WhatsApp

This can be a problem you are getting because you are using an older version of the application. Try opening the Google Play Store on Android or the App Store on iOS and check for a newer version of the app that you want to update. Changes are always applied to everyone.

Empty WhatsApp cache

You can also try this trick to see if the error goes away like this:

  • Open your mobile settings, look for the gear icon
  • Find the ‘Apps / Applications’ section
  • Go to the bottom of the list until you see the one for WhatsApp and enter
  • Find ‘Storage’
  • Find the Clear / Empty Cache option and click
  • Close WhatsApp and open it again. Or restart the phone to make sure the cleaning is taking effect.

Uninstall the app

Another option is to uninstall WhatsApp from the phone and reinstall it by downloading it from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Since all of your chats are copied every 24 hours, nothing will happen to them. You can restore them if something goes wrong. Or manually create a backup before uninstalling to ensure this.

If you are using WhatsApp Beta

In the event that you are in the WhatsApp beta, the best thing to do is to quit the program to get a standard version of the app.

function appendFbScript() { var js, id = 'facebook-jssdk', fjs = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];

if (document.getElementById(id)) return; js = document.createElement('script'); = id; js.src = "//"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);

window.fbAsyncInit = function () { FB.init({ appId: '134271133859236', xfbml: true, version: 'v2.0' }); FB.Event.subscribe('comment.create', function (comment_data) { console.log(comment_data); update_comments_count(); }); FB.Event.subscribe('comment.remove', function (comment_data) { update_comments_count(); });

function update_comments_count(comment_data, comment_action) { jQuery.ajax({ type: 'GET', dataType: 'json', url: '', data: { action: 'clear_better_facebook_comments', post_id: '101321' }, success: function (data) { // todo sync comments count here! data have the counts }, error: function (i, b) { // todo } } ) }; };

appendFbScript(); }

Cyber Fraud: You pose as ANSES to steal data

The Specialized Cybercrime Fiscal Unit (UFECI) announced in a recent report that virtual crime-related complaints rose 3,000% between 2019 and 2020. One of the most common attacks is phishing, a modus operandi in which victims are deceived by identity theft, a trap made easier by the impersonality of digital communications.

The pirates are sending out emails on behalf of the Social Security Agency informing them of an alleged adjustment of 95,000 in favor of the person receiving the notice. Anyone who falls into the trap is directed to a form in which they have to enter personal data that the hackers use to make illegal purchases or request quick loans, among other things.

Similar attempts at fraud have also been registered via WhatsApp in recent weeks. In this case, the scammers communicate with users of the messaging app who claim to be ANSES employees, indicating that the beneficiary must apply for a shift to collect a retrospective payment. With this technology, they simulate the allocation of a personal appointment to obtain the access data of the user and thus obtain valuable information.

Earlier this month, Correo Argentino recently reported to UFECI on the spread of fake emails in which hackers masquerade as an institution to steal money from unsuspecting users who trust the legitimacy of this apocryphal message.

How do you know this is a scam?
In addition to the importance of not providing information outside of official channels, it is important to be vigilant in order to avoid this type of fraud. With this in mind, fraudulent emails and messages usually have characteristics that are used to discover their character.

On the one hand, you need to check the sender’s address. In the case, which will be published this week, you can see at a glance that this is not an official communication from ANSES, apart from the capital letters “This email is sent from”. On the other hand, it is common for this type of scam to arrive with texts that contain spelling or typing errors; The attempted fraud we are referring to is no exception.

Another clue to uncovering the deception is the urgency that the scammers are invoking: they ask for immediate action (in this case, fill out a form) and do not add an official contact channel to forward inquiries.

What to do when we receive this type of message?
First and fundamental step: ignore the promise! With this in mind, it is important not to touch unknown links and of course not to submit forms with personal data. In this case, it is important to take into account that ANSES never asks users for passwords in order to solve problems.

The attempted fraud, meanwhile, complements the fraud statistics through digital media that are registered in our country and are on the rise. Previously, the Latin American Cybercrime Observatory had indicated that in our country these acts of cybercriminals are increasing, with thefts amounting to around 650 million pesos every year.

WhatsApp allows you to listen to the audio messages before sending them

Although there are tricks for doing this, a native feature in Messenger is welcome.

Whatsapp does not provide a native mode for Listen to your own audio messages before sending them. That should change soon: Messenger is testing the function in its beta versions and it is possible that the news will reach all users of the application after testing.

Sometimes a Voice memo “Preview” it can be useful, especially when it comes to a work chat. Ideal for the most meticulous.

The new option was discovered by a common source in the field, WABetaInfoexamining the trial versions of the messenger to find new features in the final version of the app. In this case, in the beta versions of WhatsApp for both iOS and Android, there is the option to listen to the audios before sending them.

At the time of writing this review there are no official announcements regarding the event’s possible arrival to the general public.

Audio preview: this is how it works

The option merges with the Record mode lockedactivated by sliding the microphone icon up to record hands-free. In this case, as you can see in the video we shared at the beginning of this review, more buttons appear: one to remove the audio, another to stop recording, and the traditional one to send.

Furthermore, the protagonist of the change: when the app is done recording, you can listen to it before broadcasting. A Check before sharing.

The trick of listening to voice memos before sending them while the new feature arrives

In order to preview a voice message in WhatsApp, you need to record that note (you can do this both by pressing the record icon and leaving it “locked” with the padlock) and when it’s done instead of unlocking it for sending. You should Touch the button that goes back in the phone’s operating system. In this way, we are “cheating” on the app, which, instead of deleting the voice message, keeps it as a draft.

When we return to the conversation, we find the voice message in the format you see in the screenshot (above this paragraph), including the little trash can to delete it. In this case it is possible to listen to the audio before broadcasting by simply tapping on “Play”. If everything is fine, then to send, you just have to click the usual arrow to send messages Whatsapp.

Summarized step by step:

  1. Enter the chat and record the voice message.
  2. Before sending (or releasing the record button), you must touch the backspace button to exit the chat.
  3. Re-enter the conversation and listen to the audio. If something is wrong, you can use the trash can icon to remove it.
  4. If you are satisfied, you can send it by the usual method.
