UK Weather Forecast: Office flood warnings met in heavy rain and stormy winds as Brits set for “wettest January ever”

Flood warnings

The flood warnings apply to much of the southwest around Wolverhampton, Leeds, Norwich and Eastbourne.

Frost and fog are set for the latter part of the week, with icy fog rolling over England and Wales, a Met Office spokesman said.

The forecaster told The Sun, “We’ve seen a pretty average start to the month in terms of rainfall, we’re running at about 30 percent of the average – we would normally expect that to be reached.

“But high pressure and fog will be the main problem.

“It looks nice around the middle of the week, and it could be quite sunny on Wednesday – but on Thursday and Friday the risk of frost increases.

“So this is fog with temperatures below freezing point, and that could lead to disruptions in travel and air traffic, which could lead to disruptions at airports, for example.

“But there is neither snow nor particularly annoying wind.”
