TSMC is the largest and most advanced semiconductor manufacturer in the world and manages to stay one step ahead of big competitors like Samsung or even the all-powerful Intel. Incidentally, Intel had to reach an agreement with TSMC to use its lines while recovering from the 10nm fiasco.
Well, to say that TSMC is the “Biggest” is not new to anyone. Well … What is really amazing to learn is that while Samsung is facing all sorts of issues and delays in its 3nm process, TSMC has already gone public saying that everything is going well and mass production will start in 2022 .
TSMC does not take foot off the accelerator! 3nm arrive in 2022 (large)
Hence, it is confirmed that TSMC will even be ready to commercialize its 3nm node (N3 EUV) in 2022, with mass production starting in the second half of next year. However, the aim is to maximize the production of the current 5nm lines in order to fulfill all orders from Apple, but also from AMD, which in 2022 is to rely heavily on 5nm and 6nm for its boards as well as the new generation of processors the Zen 4 architecture (Ryzen 7000).
TSMC continues to grow and its partners take the opportunity to grow at the same time and at the same pace. Proof of this is AMD’s current plan to continue to produce in 7nm, but also in 6nm and 5nm. In short, if you are a fan of the technological evolution and rivalry between space companies, 2022 is going to be awesome.
Besides, what do you think of all of this? Will TSMC ever have a rival to compete with? Please let us know what you think in the comments below.
