Although the Play Store for Android has gone through a lot of developments over time, the web version is stagnating. For many years the same design material was retained and without any new developments. Now that is all about to change and we are entitled to a new Google Play Store. In fact, it is already being tested in some regions and is visually a major improvement over the previous version.
There’s a new Google Play Store! Have you found it yet?
The new design, revealed on the Android Police website, is now available in Taiwan and Korea. However, it varies based on the user’s account. The content is spread out more on the screen, which is very positive, instead of putting everything in one central column. The page background is white, the icons are larger, and some apps have a top image that spans the entire screen.
Otherwise everything is in the same place. However, some important elements have changed. For example, the side menu with links to review purchased content, play points, and other information is now only visible when you click on the profile picture in the top right corner.
We also have some minor functional improvements. The media gallery on the application pages now has a scroll bar so you can see everything quickly. However, the main games and apps pages also have buttons at the top that you can use to quickly filter content for your smartphone, tablet, TV, Chromebook, Wear OS, and others.
Big or small, what matters is that even the web version of the Google Play Store is moving. This means, without a doubt, that there is great news and that this version is once again in focus as the hub for installing applications and games on all Android devices. We can now hope that it will reach everyone.
