Tesla cars will be much more aggressive about driving thanks to an update that modifies the vehicle’s automatic driving capabilities. However, the new driving system now has three different profiles. As you can see, they change the vehicle’s behavior on the road. However, drivers who have this method enabled can choose between a relaxed, average and confident profile. But is introducing an aggressive driving mode for Tesla vehicles justified?
Tesla cars get “aggressive” driving mode!
Tesla describes the new profiles as a way to control and define behaviors such as sudden stops, overtaking and crossing a yellow light. However, you can do even more. Switching a vehicle from Sunday driving mode to Youth mode is faster. The choice is entirely ours.
Confident mode, also known as Aggressive or Road Rage mode, is followed very closely by everyone. When active, the vehicle keeps less distance from other drivers and overtakes more.
In any case, a road expert told the BBC that a well-designed autonomous vehicle can be safer than a human driver, even in a confident mode. Because they eliminate human error.
The autonomous driving system is currently still in the beta phase. That means it is not fully autonomous in most cases and needs a driver who is aware of the actions taken.
It now remains to be seen how this system will work in practice. One thing is known. We can change the driving profile at any time. That is, if we are not satisfied, we can go back to the medium or quieter profile.
However, very different posts about this novelty appear on Twitter. Some are happy with the Road Rage mode and others worry about what might happen.
