Star Wars: Battlefront 3? Forget it, EA doesn’t want to

Awaiting Star Wars: Battlefront 3? Well … there is a lot to wait because, according to new information, EA has decided to cancel the project or at least postpone it indefinitely.

What a shame and a huge disappointment for fans of this saga. When EA took over the Star Wars license almost 10 years ago, the first thing it did was breathe new life into ‘Battlefront’ by giving DICE much of the control of the project.

However, it seems that the bet never paid off enough and as such the saga is floating once again.

Battlefront 3

So everything points to the fact that we won’t have a Battlefront 3 in the near future … Who says it’s Tom Henderson, one of the most respected “leakers” in the video game world, but who tried the story of DICE to push the project forward, but the editor (AND THE) quickly cut off their legs.

Apparently, one of the main reasons for the “denial” is actually licensing costs, as launching the game “now” would force an increase in the number of games sold by at least 20% in order to get the same recipe. In addition, many of the DICE talents involved in the Battlefront saga left the studio to pursue other projects.

Is EA in the mood to withdraw from the Star Wars world?

EA originally signed a 10-year license agreement with Disney to have the exclusive rights to IP Star Wars in the video game world. However, based on the latest information, this agreement has almost certainly been changed in the past few years. Eventually Disney began working with other studios like Quantic Dream, Ubisodt, and Aspyr Media, who in turn were developing a new Knights of the Old Republic.

All in all, it’s not a big surprise to see Battlefront 3 in cod waters … In the end, the launch of Battlefront 2 was a real shame as EA went all out on microtransactions.

Nevertheless, we will have at least 1 or 2 more games from EA’s hands, although of course we have to point out Jedi Fallen Order 2.
