It is true that the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are without a doubt the best devices published by Google. However, they have been plagued by a number of problems. Underneath is the fingerprint sensor. It doesn’t seem the best in the world to start with as several people complain about being slow. However, this is not the biggest problem. It looks like the Google Pixel 6 can be fingerprinted by anyone other than the owner.
Some Google Pixel 6s can be unlocked by others!
A Reddit user reported on the Google Pixel community that his wife had unlocked his smartphone even though only his fingerprint was registered. However, most of the answers express admiration and even contain possible theories. On the one hand, this problem does not seem to be widespread. However, there are other people who complain about this situation with varying degrees of severity. There’s even a video that demonstrates this.
The first person to complain about this situation was using an Omotion screen saver, which can make the sensor less readable. This could explain the problem, or at least part of it. However, another did not use anything.
Is the problem with similar fingerprints?
It is very unlikely. The chance that two people will have identical fingerprints is one in 64 trillion.
Something is wrong with the sensor
There really seems to be a problem with the sensor. As mentioned above, there is not only detection error, but also slowness.
One way to solve the fact that Pixel 6s can be unlocked by others
At this point the only correction is to delete and re-register all the fingerprints registered on our smartphone. When this is done, it appears that only the owner’s fingerprints are recognized. However, we are not sure if this fix is temporary or not.
