Samsung delayed the announcement of the Exynos 2200… Strange!

On December 30, Samsung floated the idea of announcing its new SoC made in partnership with AMD, the Exynos 2200, on January 11, 2022. However, we are already on the 13th of the same month and neither ai nor ui , from the South Korean giant. What happened?

Samsung delayed the announcement of the Exynos 2200… Strange!

from Exynos

To respond to the most alert, Samsung has already gone public to say that the event has already been postponed, but no explanation has been given. However, according to BusinessKorea, the “shift” was an attempt to merge the Exynos 2200 versions with the Galaxy S22 lineup. After all, Exynos is supposed to enter the consumer market with this smartphone line.

But… We have to say… There are many rumors about the performance of this SoC, mostly negative ones.

After all, according to Ice_Universe, the target frequency of 1.9 GHz was missed due to the poor thermal performance of the chip, Samsung only stayed at 1.29 GHz. (However, there are plans to increase the same frequency to at least 1.49 GHz).

However, it is to be expected that there will be some changes, at least in the area of graphics performance, thanks to the integration of an RDNA2 GPU, based on Samsung’s 4nm process, with 6 CUs (384 stream processors).

In short, it’s a really odd shift that gives the impression of something happening within the company. One thing is for sure though, the Galaxy S22 will be announced on February 8th, so the processor needs to be announced before that date. This… Unless maybe the event is postponed due to COVID… It’s always COVID’s fault now, isn’t it?
