Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition has already hit the market, but for PC it’s been a disastrous start for Rockstar Games. After all, nobody has been able to play it since the official launch, as the launcher for the PC was initially taken offline for another 24 hours and later came back with no active game.
Do you know why? The reasons are so ridiculous that instead of sadness, you will likely go into fits of laughter.
Rockstar got his paw in the puddle with GTA Trilogy for PC!
Hence, the PC version of GTA Trilogy was offline as the game was released out of forgetfulness or sheer negligence of the studio with unlicensed songs, detailed developer comments in the installation files, and perhaps more serious … with the Hot Coffee Mod, over which a few years ago so much was talked about.
More precisely, with this remaster, Rockstar was unable to obtain licenses for the original music. Or just didn’t want to pay for their renewal. Even so, the PC release team didn’t bother removing or replacing them.
This is exactly why the game stays offline, which means that the studio needs to make sure that all content is removed so that it doesn’t end up paying millions in fines. Of course, the ‘developers’ comments need to be removed as well, as well as the mod, but that’s easy for the team to do. The real complication here is even the music package of the three tracks.
Despite the fact that the launcher is already active again, the game is still unavailable and in fact no one knows when it will be available again, both for purchase and for … well … play.
