ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker – If we want to talk about high-performance notebooks with a focus on video games, ASUS and its ROG series cannot be missing! especially in the Zephyruswhere we see a great focus not only on performance but also on design.
A great example of this is the special ‘Alan Walker’ version of Zephyrus G14, a notebook that convinced me last year and this year seems to be giving everything to go a little further! With more power and, of course, some design features that you simply cannot find elsewhere.
But let’s go in parts to show you what this ASUS machine is really worth.
(Mini-Review) Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker ‘DRAFTING’
So the ROG Zephyrus G14 was a brutal notebook! Which at least fulfilled all dimensions for me.
After all, it’s beautiful, super powerful and, despite all the hardware, a slim, light notebook. A machine that during the day provides a basis for working with the highest possible quality and at night is ready for the “kill” in the many online arenas.
Well, this Special Edition takes an already spectacular foundation and takes it to another level that isn’t necessarily 100% geared towards the gaming world, using DJ Alan Walker’s name as a base. A musician who has a video on YouTube with over 3 billion views. Which is not a joke at all … And as such, this Alan Walker G14 couldn’t play on duty either.
First of all, keep in mind that the main goal of this partnership was to combine gaming with music.
A partnership that is of course very noticeable in the chosen design, with a mix of metallic materials, fabric and of course some LEDs in the mix.
What really sets the G14 apart from its “normal” brother, however, is the inside of the box or the box itself, which is not only very beautiful, but also serves as a “mixpad”. Yes, the G14 wants its owner to become a part-time DJ!
So what about the technical specifications? They are equal!?
So so! As far as the specification is concerned, we have the same base as the ‘normal’ G14. In other words, an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS processor, a 14-inch screen with 2560 × 1440 IPS that can reach 120 Hz. Then we have an RTX 3050 Ti to ensure good gaming performance. But here … it’s a shame that we don’t have an RTX 3060 or RTX 3070, as the cooling would be more than sufficient. But that was ASUS ‘choice, and in fact, it’s more than enough to play in FHD.
In short, not much has changed about the G14!
Still, we have to say that it’s a very interesting machine, the design and build quality of which is worthy of the ASUS name.
By using the Ryzen 9 5900HS, we also have an excellent mix of performance and energy efficiency, with the notebook offering a range (~ 10h) that is well above the market average. However, since this is a notebook that is very focused on the consumption and production of music content, the speakers are expected to be the best you can find on the market
In terms of price, it is ultimately a machine that costs between € 1800 and € 2000. Which in turn means that we have to tell you that it might be a good idea to check out the regular G14 before you put that much cash on the table, as you can buy a model with 32GB of storage for the same price, plus an RTX 3060. (If you can find the notebook in stock!)
