Greenwood has been a Red Devils regular this season, so his absence is a blow to pressured boss Solskjaer.
After the 20-year-old’s failure, United took on the wings with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes behind Cristiano Ronaldo in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay have been named in central midfield, with a regular back four instead of the full-back system used in recent weeks.
