As you may know, Apple is back with MagSafe with the new line of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro notebooks. The functionality is not exactly the same, however, as we have a third generation here, which is still based on the same design, i.e. a magnetic connection, but the strength seems compared to the previous models.
Can you imagine picking up the charging cable and picking up the laptop? It is possible! But even with all that force, everything seems to stick when it comes to keeping the laptop from falling to the floor when someone pulls on the string (a running kid or your dog walking around the office). Reliable.
The MagSafe of the MacBook Pro is so strong that it can lift the notebook by the cable
So it seems that the magnet is actually much stronger than some consumers expected. After all, according to a recent report on Reddit, it is possible to simply lift the notebook using the cable. At least in the lighter 14-inch version.
Interestingly, according to the same user, if you pull the cable in a straight line, it stays connected, but if you pull it up or down (imagine a bang breaking) the cable will instantly disconnect. In other words, Apple has managed to take over and improve on one of the most popular features in the MacBook world.
Although users have been asking for a return since 2016, the truth is that MagSafe has also brought some issues with it. To like? Sometimes the wire can be disconnected without the user noticing. Can you imagine working from home with the charger on, then going to work or college, but getting there without a battery? Well, in this way Apple has managed to keep the safety part, but also the performance and practicality component, as the user guarantees that the battery is really being charged and that the cable is not badly connected.
