Komodo Health adds demographic information to its health database

Healthcare data analytics company Komodo Health adds demographic information to its Healthcare Map, a database of anonymized patient characteristics and care routes.

“If we are serious about reducing the burden of disease, we must recognize the existing health inequalities and take meaningful action to meet unmet needs in colored communities,” said Dr. Arif Nathoo, CEO and co-founder of Komodo Health, in a statement.

“Everyone in the healthcare sector, from vendors to industry innovators, has a role to play in filling gaps in care, and we believe we will be able to bring critical insights to the surface for meaningful outcomes.”


Komodo said adding race and ethnicity data will help its clients eliminate inequalities, including identifying outcomes inequalities, supply gaps, and building more diverse clinical trials.

The pandemic has brought longstanding racial health disparities to the fore since Data showed that Alaskan Indians and Native Americans, blacks and Hispanic Americans were disproportionately infected and killed by COVID-19.
