We were at the center of Red Bull’s spectacular sound clash between glam pop star Jake Wesley Rogers and soulful Skywalker Bren Joy, who competed in front of a starry crowd in the heart of the famous music city of Nashville.

For those new to SoundClash Stannery (welcome, you’ll love it here): Clashers go song after song over the course of four exciting rounds of performing covers, reinterpreting one of their competitors’ tracks, performing three of their own songs and top things off with a wildcard finale that can include anything from special guests to surprising stage antics.

After both artists complete their potentially extraordinary finale, the audience votes to determine a winner.

Even so, it was almost impossible for the audience to choose between Bren, who presented his stunning voice range, and Jake, who wowed the crowd with Stardust-driven bravery.

In round 4, they appeared alongside Grammy winner Sheryl Crow, singer and actress Lennon Stella, queer icon Joy Oladokun and hip-hop artist Landon Sears.

In one of many highlights of the night, Jake and Bren performed special collaborative versions of “Weddings and Funerals” by Jake Wesley Rogers and “Freezing” by Bren Joy during their unforgettable Takeover Round.

Check out the heavenly video below:

The classic clash was the headline of our dazzling Nashville adventure that featured an interactive songwriting class (with special guest Bren Joy), a Jake Wesley Rogers-inspired photoshoot that lit up our inner glamor god (or goddess), and a tour of the National Museum of African American Music.

* Writing a song together with a group of open-minded creative people is sooooo much fun. 10/10, highly recommended.

* At NMAAM you can make your own beats, spit hot fire in a studio, re-enact the greatest dance moves of all time, lead your own church choir and freestyle like your favorite rapper. If you haven’t already, you’re missing out.

* Doing anything that was inspired by Jake Wesley Rogers is a flex. He’s a star.
