At the moment, the great demand for new cars is geared more towards electric models, be it 100% electric or hybrid, almost always in the SUV style. The truth is, however, that this doesn’t tell the full story of the automotive world! After all, “traditional” models are still in demand, with some pluses, such as the price.
However, this time we had the Hyundai i30 Fastback N Line in our hands!
In short, here we have a well-equipped car, with dimensions that can accommodate the whole family and which is very reminiscent of its sporty brother, the Hyundai i30 N, which we were of course also able to test.
However, it is of course a more modest version with the Turbo 1.0 engine producing 120 hp. Still, even though it looks like an under-sized engine, I believe that after this test it hasn’t completely lost its fun character, especially when cornering.
But let’s get down to business!
Introduction and mini-review
Then we have the fastback version of the new i30 N Line in our hands, which guarantees new lines in the rear and beyond. In addition to the visual change, we also have the physical change, i.e. more space in the trunk.
As “N Line” this means that this car continues to offer the sporty lines of its brother. It’s all very similar, with the right to upgrade the watch faces, after all, we have a bigger digital screen.
As for driving, it is undeniable that we have a comfortable car here, with an easy and often fun ride on the road. As for the quality of the surfaces, we have a good selection of soft materials in the interior and also high-quality sound insulation. Incidentally, the factory audio should also be congratulated.
Well, if you opt for this Fastback N Line version, you will clearly be opting for a family car whose sporty design leaves no one indifferent. In my opinion the car is very well made and in general the rear of the car outperforms the hatchback version.
As for details, the new full LED headlights with a design that, like sour cherries, fits into the philosophy of the entire Hyundai i30. In addition, although the stern is an N line, it has a protruding diffuser and a favorable exhaust gas outlet.
In short, here we have a car aiming one Family vehicle, spacious and easy to use on a daily basis. However, it retains the sporty lines in the exterior and interior, all with a strong focus on dynamic driving.
Speaking of interior …
Here we have the introduction of new seats in a very sporty design! But don’t be fooled, the goal here is just comfort. Both for a smooth ride and for a more dynamic ride, as the sporty shape of the seats guarantees enormous lateral support, which helps this boy pulling around corners.
For the rest we have a 10.25 inch screen for entertainment system, with good quality. Where it goes with that, of course Android Auto and Apple CarPlay at your service. Thus an easy-to-use system that offers a good tactile response without too much delay.
Now let’s get to the performance!
The tested variant was equipped with the 1.0 liter turbo engine with 120 hp in power and 172 Nm torque. Wherever we have allied 7-speed dual clutch transmission DCT. The result is, of course, a comfortable driving experience that of course does not break any speed records.
But that is also possible with an automatic transmission and a more sophisticated drive The consumption is approx. 6 liters every 100 km!
Still, I missed the Eco, Normal, Sport driving modes, which can be found in almost all of the brand’s models.
All in all, we have an irritating detail here. At the end of the test days I noticed that when the start / stop was activated, the engine only starts reacting / starting again after it has been completely stopped. The engine literally has to stop (hit 0 RPM) to start again, just 1-2 seconds maximum, but it’s enough to get in the way when you need a quick response in traffic. (The solution is simple, just turn off the start / stop button when you think you don’t need it.)
Well, despite its size, this is small 1.0 liter turbo engine with 120 hp, succeeds in sending well. The second brand, by the way, is capable of the i30 Fastback N Line’s 0-100 km / h in 11.4 seconds, up to Maximum speed in 196km / h.
Interestingly, despite the brand numbers, on test days could speed that up 0 to 100 km / h in 10.9 seconds.
As already mentioned, despite the sporty look, this version is geared towards comfort and practicality. Still, it will be fun to push the little 1.0L on winding roads. Always with the help of good angles of rotation and a very fast steering wheel reaction, accompanied by the suspension, which is strongly focused on comfort.
So here we have a car geared towards comfortable travel that is very convenient for all types of utility companies and even for large families. After all, we have even more luggage space available in this FastBack version.
Hyundai i30 Fastback N Line – conclusion
In my opinion, we have a car that is suitable for everyday use, with a good driving experience and very good practical suitability. What’s more, the 1.0 liter turbo engine won’t let you down, even for the accelerated, although it’s not ominous.
That way, it’s easily a good choice to assert yourself against competitors in its range with the same equipment. It’s always important to mention here includes the 7-year unlimited mileage guarantee.
