Ö Movie Maker Online is a completely free video editing platform that, while having a fairly dated user interface, has interesting features. As the name suggests, there is no need to download the editor as all of its tools and resources are available on the website.
In addition, access is made easier by eliminating the need for the user to create an account. By the way, it should be made clear that the publisher, although similar to the Windows Movie Maker program discontinued by Microsoft, has no connection with the company.
Movie Maker Online Features
Unlike most free video editors, Movie Maker Online doesn’t add the dreaded watermarks to the project – which is perhaps the program’s biggest advantage. After all, it’s not uncommon for watermarks to spoil the bottom line, forcing the user to pay for the service to download the content without any changes.
In addition, the editor allows the user to create videos in various formats including those dedicated to Instagram Story and TikTok. There are numerous editing options with various effects, transitions, tools for cutting, speeding up and merging videos, among others.
However, the program has some limitations. All projects will be deleted within 24 hours or less. For this reason, it is important to download the unfinished file so that you can continue at another time or finish editing the same day. Users can only create videos up to 10 minutes in length and upload a maximum of 100 files. Check out how to use Movie Maker Online below.
How to use Movie Maker Online
Step 1: Access Movie Maker Online from your computer and click the “Add Files” button on the Home screen. Then select the video that you want to edit. The buttons on the side allow you to insert photos from the image database, free music and even texts;

Step 2: In the next window, tap the checkbox that appears to accept the terms of use, privacy policy and cookies used by the website. In this step you can remain anonymous, i.e. without registering or creating a password for your access under “Password”. To continue, select the “Use anonymous” button;

Step 3: If you want to merge the video with an image or clip, just use the Add Files command above. In the end, both files will be displayed on the screen. To change the order, press and drag the file you want to move when the editor shows a green outline.

Step 4: You can change the background color using the Add Color button located just below the clip’s viewing screen. Click it;

Step 5: On the color palette in front of you, drag the color bar until you find the one you want. Select the hue on the left and the level of transparency on the right of the color bar. If you want more convenience, you can simply enter the color code in the field that appears. Finally, tap on “Apply”;

Step 6: To determine the position of the image in relation to the background, tap the rectangle towards the Main tab, which is located under the color menu.

Step 7: Now adjust the sample image on the screen as you want to position the video. Here you can reduce, move and rotate the image. Tap Save to save. It is possible to do the same with the background image, just select the “Back” tab in the previous step;

Step 8: Returning to the main screen, select one of the clips to access additional editing options. The first two buttons are “Play” and “Restart”, respectively. In the landscape icon you can adjust the volume and speed of the clip. Below right is the “Duplicate” button and finally the “Delete” button in red.

How to Cut Videos in Movie Maker
Step 1: On the same screen, tap the button with the scissors icon;

Step 2: To trim the clip, find a control bar on the left side of the screen. Use the top and bottom end arrows to determine the cut. To determine exactly what period of time to trim, use the “Play” button to watch the video. It is still possible to use the Trim From and Trim To fields to perform the operation. When you’re done, tap Save.

Add effects and transitions with Movie Maker
Step 1: In the “Transitions” section, choose the background (“Back”) or clip (“Main”) button;

Step 2: Each icon at the bottom of the screen represents a different transition. Select the one you want. To the left of the middle picture you can set the picture input duration, the direction of movement or the initial scale. All of these options are available on the right, but now with the focus on screen output. When you have finished editing, tap Save;

Step 3: To add effects, select one of the “Effects” buttons next to the previous section. Here you can configure the effects of the background (“Back”), the clip (“Main”) or both at the same time (“Global”). Click the button in the direction of the part you want to edit.

Step 4: From the right side of the screen, drag the bar that appears to the part of the video where you want to add an effect. Then tap on “Add Effect” at the bottom.

Step 5: Now select the desired effect and click the “Apply” button. Return to the previous page, tap Save to exit.

Step 6: To save, go back to the main editing screen, select the “Create Video” button, then download it. To make sure everything is correct, you can check the final result on the right side of the screen in the “Preview” section;
