GTA IV (Grand Theft Auto IV) is one of the biggest and most famous games from Rockstar Games, but … oddly enough, it’s also a game that is in a kind of limbo as it was originally released for the Xbox 360 and PS3, which were already extremely powerful consoles at the time, but graphically this is a game that has not stood the test of time for various reasons and despite a simply brutal story.
So to be a game with a huge fan base and Rockstar Games to be a studio that has “so friendly” HD re-releases. It would never be big news to hear that GTA IV is back in development, only to be released again as an HD remaster of course. Well, that’s going to happen, with a release date already set for 2023.
GTA IV will have a remaster in 2023
So before GTA VI becomes a reality, we still have the release of the HD remaster of GTA IV. A project that should reach the new generation consoles, but also old ladies PS4, Xbox One and who knows, Nintendo Switch too.
Interestingly, according to Tom Henderson, the “leaker” is responsible for this information. This is Rockstar’s strategy to buy some time until GTA VI is done. In other words, betting on re-releases of “old” games that are still able to attract players while also betting on the goose that lays the golden eggs of GTA Online.
In short, we’ll have GTA Trilogy in 2021, GTA V Enchanced in 2022, and possibly GTA IV. As you might have guessed, this most likely also means GTA VI … only in 2024.
Besides, what do you think of all of this? Wanted to see GTA IV get an HD treatment? Personally, I think it’s a good idea because back then it was a game that passed me by. But honestly, I’d also like Rockstar to focus more on what everyone really wants … In other words, a really new GTA.
