A right-wing congressman from Arizona appears to have a death wish for the red-hot progressive Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and releases an altered anime video showing him nearly beheading the Democrat.
Republican MP Paul Gosar posted the disturbing video on Twitter on Sunday showing a sword-wielding character with Gosar’s superimposed face jetpacking onto a roof before attacking Ocasio-Cortez.
He cuts the New York liberal’s neck, pulls blood splatters and lets the blonde anime character collapse.
Ocasio-Cortez responded Monday to the viral video from Scotland where she is attending a climate summit.
“So while I was on my way to Glasgow, a creepy member I work with who raises funds for neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video killing me,” she tweeted. “And he won’t have any consequences if he cheers him on with excuses.”
She added: “Well, back to work because institutions don’t offer protection” [women of color]. ‘
It’s not clear what prompted Arizona lawmakers to post the video, which had been viewed 2.8 million times and shared by nearly 28,000 users as of Monday night.
Gosar is shown falling on President Joe Biden’s head with a sword towards the end of the cartoon.

Some Twitter users are demanding that the “crazy” politician be removed from the platform – and booted from Congress.
‘Under [no] Circumstances should be swept away his fantasies of killing people, ”tweeted @fred_guttenberg, whose daughter Jaime was killed during a school shootout in Parkland, Florida.
“We know he’s a madman. America, we better vote for the Democrats in 2022 or he will take the lead. ‘
Gosar’s Twitter preferences prohibit anyone the politician doesn’t follow from commenting directly, and only three of the 4,529 connections who have had the opportunity to speak did.
“Best Congressman,” said @RepGosarFan. ‘Best timeline.’
The internet’s latest death fantasy has angered many Twitter users.
“Republican @RepGosar shared a Photoshop-edited animated video showing him killing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” @KaivanShroff tweeted.
“Absolutely outrageous. Like Marjorie Taylor Greene, he should be removed from committee duties. ‘
@DHStokyo added: “I’m here to say that I don’t want radicalized Republicans who, near my government, have fantasies of violence against their colleagues or their party leaders who ignore it.”
It’s no secret that Gosar, a staunch Donald Trump supporter, and Ocasio-Cortez disagree on their socialist leanings.
Politicians on opposite sides of the political spectrum agree on almost everything from vaccination mandates and immigration to universal health care and the Capitol Riots.
AOC – which often draws the wrath of right-wing experts and politicians – previously had detailed safety concerns about their high profile job.
In a 2019 interview with Time Magazine, she revealed that enough people had threatened death that her staff were trained to rate visitors to her Capitol Hill office – even people who only left post-it notes on the badge in the hallway.
Earlier this year, she recalled hiding in her office bathroom during the January 6th Capitol riot after hearing someone was after her.
One Twitter user described Gosar’s video as “utterly shameful” and said it should be removed from committee assignments
Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter Jaime was killed in a shooting in Parkland, Florida, called Gosar a “madman” and said he should be kicked out of Congress
User @DHStokyo said he did not want “radicalized Republicans who fantasize about their peers” near his government
“I just hear those screams of ‘Where is she? Where is she?’ Ocasio-Cortez said. “That was when I thought it was all over. I thought I was going to die. ‘
The congresswoman then revealed that it was a Capitol police officer trying to secure her office – but claimed that the officer “looked at me with tremendous anger and hostility.”
“I didn’t know if he was there to help or hurt us,” she said.
It ended up in the office of her colleague Rep. Katie Porter.
