Gmail is more secure than ever! And now you can even protect!

Google does everything it can to ensure user safety. This makes perfect sense at a time when the dangers keep increasing. It’s just that multiple people lose their accounts and don’t have access to Gmail. And that gives a big headache. At first it was thought that the search engine giant would only enable two-factor authentication for a more restricted group of users (and who had not yet done so). Now we know this will be for everyone and it is really big news. It’s just that Gmail is more secure than ever!

Gmail is more secure than ever! And now you can even protect!

Gaining control of our Gmail account can be a nightmare. You can send messages on our behalf, reset the password of other accounts we’ve linked Gmail with, and more. Recovery will be very difficult. Of course, we can report situations to Google at any time, but that takes a long time.

For this reason, Google enables two-factor authentication for all accounts. There is something to highlight, however. This only applies to users whose accounts are well set up. And what does that mean? Nothing easier. It is the person who is actively using the account and who has configured it on the mobile device.

If you’re not already using two-factor authentication and don’t want to wait for Google to be more secure, you can enable it now.

The first thing you need to do is go to your Google Account Management.

You can access it here. After entering your data and registration. When you get to the account management window later, select the Security option from the menu on the left. The pictures that I present here are from the desktop version. But if you’re using a smartphone or tablet, you can do everything the same way.

On the new page, find the Sign in to Google section. There you will see the Two Step Validation option. Choose this option.

In the new window click on Intro. However, you will then have to log in again.

After entering your data, you will be taken to the screen shown below. However, the devices that can receive orders are displayed. In practice, these are the ones where you are authenticated with your Google account. In my case, it’s the iPhone, but it could be any other Android smartphone. Keep pressing.

As soon as you press Next, you will receive a request on your smartphone. You just have to say yes. At this point the registration will be approved.

However, if you lose your phone or your second step is unavailable, you need an alternative way to access your account. However, just set up a contact number and choose to have the verification done via SMS or phone call.

Then just hit send. This is after entering the number. At this point, however, you will receive an SMS with a code that you will have to enter on the platform. From that moment on, you simply confirm everything and it is already protected. This way you can be sure that no one will log into your account.
