Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service climbed into Church Street in Liverpool city center at around 8:39 p.m. Thursday, November 25, after a girl was reportedly stabbed to death.

The victim is believed to be with friends on Church Alley near the busy shopping street when a situation described by police as a “verbal argument” broke out with a group of boys.

Merseyside deputy police chief Jon Roy said officials believe the victim and her friends were involved in an argument before she was attacked.

He said, “Our thoughts and condolences go to Ava’s family, who are supported by specialist family officers. Their world is torn and no parent should ever have to face the police knocking on them to say their child has died.
