Food bloggers go viral after getting chefs to turn fast food into gourmet dishes

A food blogger revealed how to turn fast food into gourmet meals – including a McDonald’s burger into a Beef Wellington and a Taco Bell into a Scotch Egg.

Washington DC’s Danny Kim, who posts food videos under Eat the Capital on TikTok on YouTube, shared a number of clips visiting top chefs to see how they turn highly processed fast food into something worthwhile is to be served in a Michelin star restaurant.

In one clip, a chef friend of Danny added puff pastry to a McDonald’s burger and mixed french fries to make a french fry puree and beef Wellington, while in another he had a crispy chicken and caviar crème fraîche amuse bouche with KFC tenders prepared.

In one clip, Danny took his McDonald’s to an unnamed chef who explains, “We’re going to make a french fry puree”.

He pulled Big Mac apart and said, “I’m going to save these onions and these pickles.

“I’ll fry the burgers in a little olive oil while my pan eats”.

Then he put the fries in a blender and explained, “I’m going to add a little milk and cream, garlic and bay leaves”.

Next, the cook separated the burgers and threw away the buns before starting building the Beef Wellington.

“First things first, I’m going to have the spinach here and that will only help loosen the burgers, I’ll put that between the two,” he explained.

The chef added McDonald’s fries to a milky flavored base before mixing them into a french fry puree

He put the cheese side of the burger down to touch the spinach before wrapping it in puff pastry.

While the Beef Wellington was cooking, he made a sauce to serve at the table with the onions and pickles from the burger.

“We’re going to wait for this to boil and we’ll take the time, it’s going to be a really nice presentation,” he said.

He brought it to the table and continued, “These mashed potatoes look good.

The chef uses the cheese in the burger to glue it onto the spinch and artichoke mixture that becomes the base of the puree

After he seared it, Danny’s cook friend showed the piece of meat after it had been made into a beef wellington

Speaking of the Beef Wellington, he continued, “The two meatballs are sealed and hold anything better than spinach and artichokes.

“And I’ll finish this plate for you on the table side, just like in a real fine kitchen,” he adds, before pouring himself a glass of wine.

Obviously gifted with all kinds of fast food, in another clip he made a crispy chicken, caviar and crème fraîche bite.

First he cut the chicken in three parts and used it as the base for his dish.

Next, the cook added smoked trout roe to the dish before topping it with dill and drizzling with olive oil.

In other clips, Danny showed how chefs can turn KFC into pasta, as well as a Scottish egg from a taco bell
