California Governor Gavin Newsom had an adverse reaction to receiving the Covid booster and flu shot within days, leaving him with muscle weakness and fatigue, say sources within the family.
The governor was last seen in public on October 27th after receiving a COVID-19 booster vaccination in Oakland. He had a flu shot on October 22nd.
Newsom finally appeared in a photo last weekend attending Ivy Getty’s star-studded wedding this past weekend after disappearing from the public eye for nearly two weeks.

Newsom is a longtime friend of the Getty billionaire family, who sponsored his political campaigns.
The sighting comes as a surprise as questions about the whereabouts and health of the democratic governor have arisen. Newsom abruptly pulled out of the COP26 climate change summit in Scotland last week for which it had been preparing for weeks, and its office cited “family commitments” as the reason.
But now a source close to the Newsom family tells DailyMail.com that he had a reaction to the gunfire, which left him with muscle weakness and fatigue.

Daniel Lopez, the governor’s press secretary, said the wedding was “not in conflict with the COP26 itinerary”.
Lopez added that Newsom had “no adverse reaction to his booster vaccination” and confirmed that the governor “will have public events related to the economy and vaccines this week.”
Newsom also received a flu shot on October 22nd.
“The flu shot and the booster shot were given separately and the governor had no side effects on any of the vaccinations,” said Lopez
At the time of his booster vaccination on Oct. 27, Newsom said it was painless and then bent down to celebrate and urged others to get booster vaccinations as well.
Two days later, his office issued a statement quoting unspecified family commitments and canceled his plans to attend the global climate conference, a huge gathering of international leaders on an issue that is one of his highest priorities.
The statement alleged that Newsom would virtually attend the summit, although it still has not made a video appearance.
In his place, the California lieutenant governor led the delegation. No further information was shared about the “family commitments” that led to the sudden change in his schedule.
“The governor was working from the Capitol this week,” a Newsom spokeswoman told DailyMail.com on Saturday, dismissing any suggestion that the COP26 cancellation was related to Newsom’s booster shot as “misinformation.”

Eleni Kounalakis, a Democrat who led the California delegation in Glasgow after Newsom withdrew from the summit, said his absence was due to family issues.
“The governor has a young family and we should all understand, especially those of us who have been there,” said Kounalakis.
Newsom and his wife have four children, ages 5 to 12.
He’s been quite active on Twitter since the break and posted photos for Halloween with his wife and children dressed as a pirate.
After the federal government approved Pfzier’s emergency coronavirus vaccine for children between the ages of 5 and 11 last week, California rolled out what state officials called a “robust immunization program.”
It’s the kind of announcement Newsom usually makes in person in front of television cameras, but the governor’s office announced the plan with a press release emailed to it.
The governor’s wife recently pondered the need to consider “housework” as important in the face of the pandemic. “Unless the COVID-19 pandemic has made it clear how damaging it is to society when we hide care and housework, I’m not sure what else will happen” (pictured together at an election night event in 2018 )
In a now deleted tweet, California first lady Jennifer Siebel Newsom chased after “haters” who criticized her husband’s 12-day disappearance from the public eye
His Twitter account went dark from October 28 to last Tuesday when he tweeted Election Day support to Democratic Governors Phil Murphy of New Jersey and Terry McAuliffe of Virginia, who are trying to get re-election.
As the week progressed, Newsom’s Twitter account was more active, tweeting about climate change, encouraging children to get vaccinated, and praising President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates for big companies.
Newsom sent some recorded remarks on a transit conference last week and also released a recorded statement on Friday commemorating Diwali, the festival of lights celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists.
On Monday, Newsom’s wife took to social media defending her husband and exclaiming “lifeless haters” who criticized Newsom’s 12-day disappearance from the public in a since-deleted tweet.
“It’s funny how some people can’t handle the truth,” California first lady Jennifer Siebel wrote to Newsom.
“If someone cancels something, they may just work in the office; maybe you are at home with your family in your free time, at sports games with your children or eating out with your wife. Please stop hating and take a life. ‘
Siebel’s tweet, first reported by The Sacramento BeeIt was deleted shortly after she posted it on Sunday, and she has not tweeted since.
The governor’s wife recently pondered the need to consider “housework” important in the face of the pandemic, after announcing she would be making a documentary about three couples trying to balance their family and professional lives.

His office announced some appointments to government agencies and boards of directors. He also posted a photo on his Instagram account with his wife and four children aged five to twelve who were dressed up as pirates on Halloween.
It’s rare, but not unprecedented, for Newsom to go a full week without any kind of gig. Such absences are usually declared even when Newsom leaves the state for vacation.
In this case, the only testimony from Newsom’s office came on October 29 and related to unspecified family responsibilities. No further information about the family’s circumstances was released.
It’s a relatively slow time in Sacramento as the state legislature doesn’t meet and won’t meet again until January.
The recent storms mean that major forest fires are not spiraling out of control, as they did in the autumn months of recent years.
