BUSINESS LIVE: FCA Investigates Data Costs; Darktrace improves leadership

The UK treasury will examine the cost of and access to investment benchmarks and indices, as well as credit ratings and other market data, as it fears that market failure would “increase the costs for investors, including ultimately retirees savers”.

It was followed by a “call for input” in which the Financial Conduct Authority announced that limited competition in the markets for benchmarks and indices, credit ratings and trading data can add cost to investors and influence investment decisions.

Games Workshop exceeded expectations in the six months to the end of November as investors expected the company would not exceed its efforts in 2020 as pre-tax profit was up 3 percent at £ 88.2 million.

Analysts applaud the good outlook for Games Workshop, which suggests headwinds are now easing as the currency flattens, capacity increases, and freight and supply chain issues stabilize.

Newly listed cybersecurity firm Darktrace has raised its full year forecast for revenue and profit margin after strong customer growth and retention in the first half.

The group, which was listed in April last year, said it now expects its annual recurring income to grow 37 to 38.5 percent in 2022, from the previous forecast from 34 percent to 36 percent. She sees her profit margin at 3 to 6 percent, from the previous forecast of 2 to 5 percent.
