Scott Boland has a last-minute bowl to prove his fitness for the fifth Test in Hobart.
The Australians are yet to finalize a starting XI but have confirmed Usman Khawaja will retain his place in the squad at the expense of Marcus Harris.
Khawaja will reopen the batting and Travis Head slots into the No. 5 berth he held before testing positive for COVID-19 after Boxing Day tested.
Boland will put his injured ribs to the test in the nets on Thursday afternoon after failing to bowl in practice on Wednesday night.
If he doesn’t go through, Jhye Richardson is the favorite to get into the team ahead of Michael Neser.
Boland elbowed himself in the ribs after losing his footing on the last ball before tee on the fourth day in Sydney.
