President Biden declared “America is back” on Thursday during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on a phone call with Al Roker, co-host of the Today show.

Roker, who was broadcasting live from the parade, asked the President, “What is your message to Americans that day?”

Biden replied, “My message is after two years, you are back, America is back, there is nothing we cannot overcome, Al. And you are one of the reasons for that. You are always awake and on the move. “

The iconic parade returned to its pre-pandemic form on Thursday after being modified and devastating the audience last year.

“Thank you very much,” Roker said to the President. “Santa Claus is coming.”

“I’m waiting for Santa Claus,” replied Biden.

The Bidens are spending their Thanksgiving holiday on the property of a private equity billionaire in Nantucket, Massachusetts, prompting Republicans to label him absent this week as inflation soars to a three-decade high.

This year’s classic Thanksgiving festival is up more than 14% from last year’s average, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual Thanksgiving dinner cost survey. In large part, that’s because the cost of a turkey is up nearly 24% year over year. According to data from the Department of Labor, the cost of chicken breasts has increased by 26% over the past year.

Industry has largely attributed the rise in prices to disruptions in the supply chain and high demand for food, especially meat.

That makes this year the most expensive Thanksgiving in the history of the country, along with the highest gasoline prices in seven years.
