BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Dan Walker hits angry fans and gives votes

Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker flogged angry fans Sunday night after viewers again accused the show of being “fixed” or biased on the BBC for escaping the dance.

Tilly Ramsay fought Sara Davies and it was ultimately Sara who went home after the judges unanimously voted to save Gordon Ramsay’s daughter.

But many fans loudly complained that Dan Walker and dance partner Nadiya Bychkova should have been in this dance – even going so far as to say they should have gone home.

Furious Strictly viewers have accused the show of being a fix after Dan Walker and Nadiya Bychkova again avoided the bottom two and were voted straight for next week’s show.

Now Dan Walker from Sheffield has pounded on the complaints – admitting he doesn’t know who will continue to vote for him.

He said, “Please don’t yell at me

“I’m having a great time, my kids love it, and it’s just a TV show!

“For those who ask, I don’t know who is voting for us (probably not Craig) but we are incredibly grateful to everyone.

“Until next week. Can not Hardly Wait”.

Of course, Dan was referring to Craig Revel Horwood’s score of just 4/10 for Dan in that comment, while Anton Du Beke was at the other end of the scale with a 9 in one of the most divided scores in the series.

Strictly’s scoring system works by assigning “Judge” points to each pair based on their total score of 40 that week.

The vote is then public for an hour during which people vote for the couple they want to keep in the competition.

It is not based solely on public votes, nor is it based solely on judges ‘scores, but on a mix of judges’ scores and the public vote. This means that the top scorer is very unlikely to be in the last two, even if he doesn’t get many votes.

It also means the bottom two dancers aren’t necessarily the lowest-scoring couples that week.

There have been allegations that the show is a “fix” as some fans suggested it should have been Dan and Nadiya on the dance-off instead.

@mrjoelclark said: “I’m usually not that invested in #Strictly, but it’s a SHAME that Dan is not in the dance-off and Sara is. Absolutely angry. “

@Kerry_Gooderson said, “Sara is in the dance but Dan is safe … Right, ladies ages 45-60 … I need a word.”

@ zoe_smi7 said, “Who will vote for Dan on #Strictly? That is definitely fixed … “

And @LeedsSTUnited said, “Totally fixed Dan’s still in. The worst and most boring dancer in the competition #Strict”

It’s the second straight week that fans have been outraged that Dan Walker wasn’t among the last two after Dan’s “Sweet Street” dance was voted through last week when Adam Peaty received the boot.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on BBC1 next Saturday, November 20th.

Strictly It Takes Two is back on BBC2 at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
