ARSENAL are reportedly interested in signing Palmeiras star Danilo.
The 20-year-old Danilo impressed in a defensive midfield role for the Brazilian team, helping them to the Copa Libertadores title last year.
And he has a number of applicants including Lille and Monaco as well as Arsenal.
All three clubs asked about Danilo’s availability, according to TNT Sports.
However, they have been told that due to its importance to the team, it will not be for sale this month – with Palmeiras who will be competing in the Club World Cup next month.
As a result, Arsenal have not yet made an offer to Danilo as Palmeiras refuses to enter into negotiations.
That means the Gunners may have to wait until summer to try to sign him.
But Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal are looking to do business this month and signing a midfielder is high on their agenda.

Lyon’s midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is said to be their number one target while Juventus man Arthur Melo has also been linked with a move to the Emirates.
Guimares revealed Arsenal’s interest before raising doubts about a possible move.
He said, “Arsenal contacted my agent but there was no offer. My goal, and I made it clear to Juninho, is to win a title with Lyon. “
That means Arsenal could look elsewhere, possibly to Lille star Renato Sanches after Barcelona ended their interest in the Portuguese midfielder.
