It is said that the stain falls on the best cloth and that is exactly what happened at Samsung. Apparently that is the Samsung Store which has several Android applications that may infect users. This is something really serious as the Android Police website found out.
Android: The Samsung Store is a very serious problem!
The problem starts with several clones of the Showbox streaming app that are housed in the Samsung Store. Plus, they’re really dangerous! the security company Linux states that apps in and of themselves can’t even be dangerous. The problem is that these are real-time bombs. This is because they are equipped with technology that enables them to download and run a wide variety of threats.
This situation began when Max Weinbach found out that at least five clones of a known app were infected. This is because Google’s Play Protect protection system warned about this. However, the Android police website immediately opened an investigation.
However, an analysis by the analysis service Virustotal showed that something is wrong. For example, some of the apps ask for excessive permissions, including access to the call log.
Since the Galaxy Store doesn’t show the number of installs, it’s not clear how many people could be at risk. However, given the hundreds of analyzes, the number of people affected can be large.
Samsung has not yet commented on this issue. However, since it is better to be on the safe side, it may be a good idea for users to use the Google Play Store.
In fact, this is information that comes in at the most inopportune time. Samsung wants to get people to its app store, and these discoveries undo much of that effort. Now let’s wait for more information from Samsung on the matter.
